The name's Ban...JamBan

Was a pretty hectic day for me. I was out and about in KL and didnt even get to set foot in the office at all. I clocked in about 200km driving all around KL if i was driving to johore im 3 quarter of the way already. It was pretty hot at noon today, and didnt really help matters that I just had to get a ticket from DBKL for illegal parking. I left the car not more than 10 minutes and when i got out of the car i made certain there wasnt any ticketing officer nearby whatsoever. There were a couple of cars already parked by the side and i thought why the hell not i'd join them run in for a spell get out quick cos i needed to be elsewhere fast.

And sure as the sun comes up in the east and sets in the west they will come. I dont know why its always when u dont pay ur parking that one time, when u been paying all along they will get you. Like this one time i paid whatever coins i had in the coin compartment cause i know im gonna be there for quite sometime and i noticed the car next to me theres no parking stub displayed in his car. And what do u know there wasnt any ticket issued to the car next to me. Call me jealous call me dengki whatever but damnit when i do it i have the damnest luck.

As i got out of the site and walked to my car saw this lady DBKL officer walking away and there wasnt any car anymore next to my car. Lo and behold what do i see on my window, a 'love letter' from her. I mean COME ON!!! Think i might as well write back to her. (inspired by Lev)

For Your Eyes Only
To The Spy Who "Loved" Me,

I am writing this letter to inform you i was On Her Majesty's Secret Service and had to leave my Moonraker for only 10 minutes. During that Quantum Of Solace you just had to give me a ticket. Couldnt have said Dr. No and Live And Let Die my car to Die Another Day?

Never Say Never Again am i so ticked off right now. If i ever get A View To A Kill of you, i'll use my Licence To Kill, take out my golden gun and im going to Thunderball the Living Daylights your Octopussy till your Goldeneye pop out.

You know The World Is Not Enough for you to hide from me, but dont gamble away all your Diamonds Are Forever at the Casino Royale just yet. Cause who knows, maybe You Only Live Twice and i just might decide to only give you the Goldfinger.

The legendary Chun Li

Went out with my cuz and a few frens to watch Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li tonite. Didnt put much hope on seeing a good movie anyway and i wasnt disappointed with my assessment. It reeked and badly. Not even halfway thru i was restless, wishing the end wud come quickly and swiftly. But the movie is not gonna make things easy for me as i suspected. It dragged its miserable self slowly, oozing feces-like from what ever depth of the lowest level of hell that it came out off. It was so bad it made Van Damme's street fighter seemed good.

If i knew its gonna be bad why watch it in the 1st place u might ask. Well thats a very good question indeed. In anticipation for Watchmen, we tot of watching filler movies before we get to see it this coming thursday and Street Fighter was available. I believe since audience nowadays are getting smarter and smarter, we wont be served with the kinda shit that we watched in the 80's and 90's. The likes of Mario Bros, Double Dragons to name a few. But NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! We still get stuff like SF and Uwe Boll's In The Name Of The King.

Granted adaptation of video games into movies hasnt been really successful. Unlike its cousin comicbook movie. Although Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil i wud call a success not a great one, but still it works. How many ways can u make a good movie from a fighting video game. Are u gonna go down the path of DOA just show lots and lots of booty and hope everybody doesnt notice how bad the movie was, or you gonna do it like Mortal Kombat staying true to the storyline like in the game which leaves nothing much to the plot but making fan boys of the series happy.

SF tried to do an original story, which doesnt stay true to the SF universe. U got an Irish Bison who is a bad ass...He is so bad ass that in his youth he steals a basket full of fish from fisherman becos he can. The Movie is shot mainly in bangkok and do we get to see Sagat, NO. Vega is a wuss, u get to see him in a coupla times and in when u get to see him in action he gets his ass kick so very easily by Chun Li. Theres so many unrequired scenes, no continuity, well the more u disect the movie the more it crumbles and thus list goes on and on.

Still am wondering whats so legendary about Chun Li. Well like they say u can only move on up from here. Heres hoping to an awesome movie this coming thursday. Who watches the watchmen? We definitely are with great anticipation.

The 1 year challenge

I was challenged by a fren to start back blogging. Its been awhile since i last did anything with the blog. The condition though is quite challenging i must say. I hafta write at least a minimum one entry a day for the next 365 days and with valid reason i could slack off a maximum of 20 days. So hopefully by the end of this year i have 365 entries or at least a minimum of 345. Whats in it for me u might ask, well if im successful I'd get a choice of half a dozen book and if i dont make it i have to eat a tube of toothpaste...heres hoping that my stomach after the year has ended doesnt taste fresh and minty eh

Hows about a cuppa joe

My close friend sham is a walking talking sitcom. Apparent by his recent trip to beijing, china, he recounted a few of his many incidents while he was there. There was one that is still memorable and still tickle my funny bones was his story with the barista in a Starbucks at the airport.

Encountering too many difficulties with the locals, language-wise he can't speak mandarin to save his life even though the wanker is a cibai (as explained in my previous post) so he used english at a bare minimum. He ordered a cuppa coffee and a sandwich and when he got them the sandwich wasn't hot anymore. Off he went to the counter with the plate of sandwich.

At the counter he called the barista, held up that plate with his left hand, tapping the sandwich with his right and said "hot". The barista took the plate from him touched, yes he actually touched the sandwich with his hand and with an incredulous stare at my friend saying " no...cold" giving back the plate to him. Again hoping against hope that the barista would understand the second time around what he wanted, he repeated the same action giving a reason to the barista to have this look on his face wondering whether the idiot in front of him is a retard or what and is he for real. And surprise surprise, he got the same response from the barista which is in the negative with an emphasive on the its cold you moron(minus the moron off course).

Giving up, he decided to switch to sign language. Pointed to the barista with his index finger then to his plate of sandwich and then he pointed to the microwave. He then made the action of putting the plate into the microwave closed the imaginary door, did the "tit-tit-tit" sound as he is punching the timer, followed by making a "whrrrrrr" sound while twirling his index finger in a circular motion and finishing it all off with a loud "Ting!!!". To which the barista then said "Oh you mean reheat?"

Wish i was there to see his face when that happened. Solid gold.

My karma ran over ur dogma

taken from sailor z flickr page shhh dont tell her :pWell the good news is i dont have dengue, at least i think i dont. Didnt feel the need to go to a doctor again today as i was fever free the whole day. Today was spent sleeping my ass off and watching tv.

When i was awake at dinner time msged sham and asked him for a round of gaming in rasta, told him to set it up. Missed playing puerto rico, nah miss the company actually.

Didnt get to spend time with em after the movie "the awesomeness that is the dark knight" yesterday at some arabic restaurant in changkat bukit bintang. I had to go home straight as i felt feverishly tired.

I was mr sniffles at the table and a lil cough now and again. Was sweating profusely even though its not that hot. Cold sweat i guess. But at the end of it all, mission acomplished hehe got arai sniffling as well. Got to spread the love (or the disease...sharing is caring right?)

Back at home since i been sleeping alot the whole day, not really that sleepy and as the illustration above im back to swallowing my own snot yet again. And i thought the darned leaking problem is fixed already. Guess good ol' karma at work. What goes around comes around. Here's to you arai...

Sneezing my brains out thru my nose and coughing my lungs out thru my throat

Welcoming the month of august with a possible dengue infection.

Damn!

And i was so looking forward to august. All started with my nose that thinks its a leaky faucet. All the travel back and forth to the bathroom just to blow everything out were in vain cos in mere seconds its dripping all over my hands and clothes. Oozing and dripping down my lips and chin.

Day 1
Usually when i have the flu i'd take clarinase, pop in a pill, rest and sleep a few hours and ur nose'll be dry like the kalahari desert when u wake up. Well at least thats how it works for me. And it did work for a few hours, was dry thruout the day. As i laid down to sleep that nite, its like that leaky faucet drip drip dripping away in the toilet, annoying the heck out of u cos u can hear it. Well suffice to say everytime i breathe in thru my nose that nite, i'll be swallowing my own snot.

Day 2
Cant breathe, cant sleep, when i did eventually go to sleep it was already morning. The sneezing and blowing my nose thruout the day really drained me and taking clarinase doesnt help either. Tried something stronger did knocked me out and it helps for awhile but come nite same thing happened. Cant really sleep when u cant breathe.

Day 3
Guessing the lack of sleep and the amount of phlegm i've collected in my throat, coughing and fever is inevitable. Joints aching and i'd have this headache when i cough too hard, feels like it pulls the side of my forehead. Sleep was lacking again that nite. Wud be awake every half hour, either from a cough, a sneeze and at one time i was shaking even though there wasnt any fan pointing at me.

Day 4
Dad offered to bring me to the clinic, but was feeling ok by morning so i declined. Spend the day either sleeping or watching the tube. Was good and a much needed R&R and i even went to see the awesomeness that is the dark knight on imax theatre at 9pm. But when i drove back just now, had to close the aircon cos the cold is making my joints ache. And later I feel my body getting warmer and i get cold feet. Had to change into thicker and clothing and wear a sock.

Day 5
Its close to 5am in the morning cant sleep, coughing and slurping my snot. Been reading the symptoms of dengue online, well if i dont get well soon i guess i've got to go to the clinic get my blood checked makes sure everything is everything. But keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best

A long constipation

Dusting off the cobwebs on the wall, sweeping the dust under the rug, dusting the windows and wiping the fan off. Getting the board off from the doors and windows. Boarding up some holes in the wall. Some boards and some hammering...some wall fillers, sandpaper and a new coat of paint. Taking out the junks and hanging some new curtains and furnitures.

Making ready for some shit to hit the fan, cos this place is gonna be full of it...

The girl i brought home

Found this in myspace which i wrote 2 years ago. Not in the mood to write PC acting funny again been that way for the past month plus but really gotta put this one up here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last saturday went for sahur in D'sara Jaya. After sahur about to go back home, i saw her sitting near the stairs. Knew she was of mixed blood so i cant help not to say hello to her, i mean with her beautiful hair and her cute face who could have resisted. When i 1st approached her she was a bit shy. Malu-malu kucing they say. Spent a few minutes chatting her up and getting friendly with her. When its time to say goodbye, she ran down the stairs and i thought to myself that'll be the last time i ever get to see her. I didnt even get a name out of her much less knows where she lived.

Walked towards my car, i noticed that she was following me from a safe distance. Unable to contain myself, i went up to her and took her back with me. Next destination, home!!! As i neared home i came to thinking, what will mom say if she knew i brought a girl home moreover let her spend the nite in my room. I'd be in hot water i tell ya! Well guess thats the bridge i hafta cross when the time comes. Just hope that it wont crumble under me. As for now while driving i just couldnt keep my hands off of her. Gerammm!!!!!!

Pulled up in front of the house, the lights were off. Good, just my luck everyone is still asleep. Not discounting the fact that its 5am in the morning, but still, mom could have been up having her sahur. We sneaked straight into my bedroom and i went to the kitchen to get her something to eat and drink. After eating she shied away from me. I tried to hold her she would back away towards my bed and have a worried look on her face. At last i gave up and just lie there on the floor whle looking at her.

She just laid there near the bed never taking her eyes off of me. If i tried making a move towards her she would back away as fast as possible. So trying to gain her trust i just didnt do nothing, until after about 10 minutes of having staring at each other she came up to me and nudged her nose against my cheek while i laid there.

It was already 9am and i havent even slept a wink, ever so slowly im begining to feel the effects of it. Decided to wake my sister up and i told my sis about our 'guest'. Ask if my sister cud keep our 'guest' in her room for awhile and figure out what to do with the guest later. My sister said mom would not allow our "guest" to stay because she doesnt like her kind. Told my sis i'll send our 'guest' back to the place i found her and we'll have to part ways then if so.

Woke up that afternoon found that mom had a fit about the 'guest'. But luckily somehow she didnt object about the 'guest' staying with us. She even gave an idea on what to call her. Im suprised because she is afraid of cats but i guess she cant say no to this one. Well my sister already spent alot on her cage, toys, foods and de-worming her and all, she wouldnt want to dissapoint them. So right now Maggie a.k.a Cek Mek is a proud member of the family.

Been 2 wonderful years she's been with us. The vet told us when we found her she is about 3 months plus so that wud make her 2 years and 3 months old now. She has her quirks perangai n sombong as ever but still cant keep my hands off. GERAMMMMMM!!!!

Yes Man

I had the pleasure recently of reading something that literally made me put the book down and just laugh out loud. A gem of a book entitled Yes Man by Danny Wallace. Its about the author who was so down and out, plus he just got out of a relationship. He's been staying home a lot saying no and making up excuses from hanging out with frens, watch a movie or whatever. One day coming back from work the tube wasnt working so everybody had to catch a bus. So our poor author struck a conversation with an old guy sitting next to him telling his tales of woe and the old guy just said 3 simple word :Say Yes More.

And that was it. He had an epiphany of sorts. Those 3 simple words struck a chord and he took the old man's advice a bit to the extreme. He started saying yes to EVERYTHING and i mean everything. He adopted 3 grannys, sign up for a few credit cards, bought a penis enlargement patch from his email, won 25,000 pound and lost it, adopted a kid in africa for his ex, join a peace rally, went to stone henge, being the 3rd wheel on his ex-gf 1st date (how awkward is that!), went to singapore from reading an advert.

Basically all the things that he or anybody for that matter wud normally say no to, he had to say YES. At the begining it was liberating for him letting go, losing control like that not able to say no. But as things went on he find it tiring and emotionally draining not having a choice. Also later he encountered his arch nemesis, if Superman had Lex Luthor then the Yes Man had the No Man. Trying everything to make him say No. No man posed all sorts of challenges to break the author's resolve.

One of the challenges for example was the Yes Man had to say No for a day which off course he had to say yes to that challenge. And during the course of the day when he had the power to say No, he felt like he was falling to dark side. And said it with much enthusiasm thruout the whole day. I laughed when he said no to the 1st person, not becos what he said but how he said it. Can imagine how he'd say it. But from all the yeses he went from being a part time radio producer to being involved in television with BBC and getting a 5 minute show on TV called "Danny's Path of Enlightenment". It brought him some interesting adventures.

The moral that i got from the book is that to approach life in a positive way. You dont have to go out there and say yes to every single thing, but to turn a negative into a postive. There's always another way to look at things. My fren told me this and i remembered it till this day.
When you feel so down and out that u think u cant go down anymore, SMILE cos there's no where else to go next but up.
P/S: someone dear to me said that there's another lesson to be learned as well, the freedom of choice. Some may take for granted the ability to choose, to have an option, saying yes or no. Some doesnt have that luxury to say yes or no to certain things. Others take it lightly saying yes/no to things without a second thought. Choose wisely and u dont know what the future may bring. If it turns out alright good on u, but if it took a turn for the worse, than one just have to roll with the punches and move on.
